Author's note: Original map by RAND McNALLY, butchered by Lee. A Wood
During the winter of `08 - `09, when things were slow in the film industry, I bought a truck and put it on with a company called `Pathfinder' which was based in Port Kells, B C. Canada.
I had an `07 Volvo 780, conventional pulling 53 Ft tandem dry vans hauling various commodities for various companies.
These are some of the pictures I took, through the windshield, along Highway 16.
These could be nerve wracking trips, particularly through this Western section which was usually travelled at night.
Highway 16 in the winter can be icy, obscured with fog, and obstacled with live animals.
Through Jasper Park the speed limit is lower than the rest of the highway because wild animals are common.
The stretches where the animals are most common have an even slower speed limit.
Fools abound and no matter how much I push the speed limit, 5 to 8 over, on a clear night, idiots will pass me like I am standing still.
On a clear day this is an especially nice piece of highway as you may; see, and often stop to wait for, animals; along, or on, the highway.

Meridian Ave. (Hwy. 17) forms part of the boundary between the two provinces and the separation of the two postal codes, T9V 1H5 & S9V 0N9
However, it does not separate the city, as Lloydminster, regardless whether it is East or West of the provincial boundary, is one city.
Invisible from the highway it is just a few feet North on 870 and then East up a steep drive way into a large parking area.
There is lots of room for truckers to turn around and park while they go in for a meal at the Hi-Way Cafe.
There is a full service Petro Can station, with Diesel.
