During the winter of `09 - `10, when things were slow in the film industry, I bought a trailer and put it on with a company called `CS' which was based in New Westminster, B C. Canada.
I had an `07 Volvo 780, conventional pulling a `10 ` Utility 3000R' 53 Ft. tandem reefer, hauling various commodities for various companies.

Mostly I pulled plywood from Richmond, B. C, to various towns in Calif.
In Calif. and Arizona I would load produce for Loblaw in Calgary, Alta.
The return home was usually yogurt from Lethbridge, Alta. to the new Loblaw's warehouse in Langley, B. C.
These are some of the pictures I took, through the windshield, along Highway 3.
This was an interesting trip for me as I hadn't been through the Crowsnest pass for several years.
Highway 3 is an older, paved, road from Eastern Albert to Hope, B. C. with few improvements, other than repaving.

Although Highway 3 runs from Hope, B. C. to Medicine Hat, Alta. it is commonly referred to as the Crowsnest Hwy.
At one time it was the only highway between the two provinces and 60 years ago it was only open in the summer.
Basically the Crowsnest pass runs from the Eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains, up over the summit of the Rockies, to Sparwood, B. C.
60 years ago, if one wished to travel between those two points, in the winter, you had to go South, into the U.S.A., cross over the Rockies and then come back North, into Canada.
The Municipality of Crowsnest Pass has grown up in the last few years through the amalgamation of several small `foothill' communities; the Hamlet of Hillcrest, Improvement District No. 5, the towns of Blairmore, and Coleman, and the Villages of Bellevue, and Frank.
Send me a comment (and I will add it to my Guest Book), or correction, or just say, "Hi"!
