PUNTA PERULA

Travelling South, on Hwy 200, along the Costalegre we saw a sign that said, Punta Perula 2K'.

We were looking for a place to go for a swim, have a siesta, eat supper, and spend the night.

We turned off the highway but only made it a few feet and stopped. Bridge out.

I could see a paved road on the other side of the construction so we turned around, back onto the hwy. back across a bridge, and through a little hamlet to a temporary road that took us back to the pavement.

A few minutes later we were driving through a small town that is spread out along the only street, which follows the beach.

After surveying, from the end of the beach, we backtracked to a side street that took us between a hotel and an RV park.

Though there are many hotels along the beach the town seemed deserted.

We had a large section of beach to ourselves.

Unfortunately, unlike me, Serena is not a water baby.

This beautiful beach, and warm water, was `Heaven' to me.

LOOKING NORTH

After swimming for awhile, and lying in the sun reading, we inquired at the hotel behind us.

He told me, in an unfriendly manner, that his rates were P500 for the night. He also said that he didn't know if there were any cheaper places in town.

LOOKING SOUTH

I thought that if other places were as friendly as he was I didn't want to spent the night in his town, so we went back out to the hwy. and continued South.

This isn't entirely true. It was early in the day and we weren't ready to stop for the night.
