OLDER SUPER
Before the advent of; B trains, or Tridem trailers, the `Super' was; an A, or C, Train with a floating axle in the middle of the lead trailer.

The purpose of the center axle was to support the center of the frame so the trailer could carry extra weight.
It was normally carried in the up position and lowered just before arriving at a weigh scale. Once past the scale it was usually raised again, to save wear and tear on the tires.
Consequently many trailers broke in the middle.
